Which location are you referring too? Also I dont think that TR still meets on Wed. at any of the above, but who knows been forever and a day since I have been to one of those meets, they were a bit much to take in. LOL

i dont usually go to brandon b/c of the distance...not to mention work... i would frequent the meets more if they were held at sonic. its convenient for me as far as location and time. its on the way home from work and i usually get off of work when the meet starts...

Will I think you make some valid points about the Sonic location. Also in the same plaza as sonic is a Moe's and a Jimmy John's so there are plenty of food options. Sonic is also nice if it rains since there is cover as well as plenty of lighting. As for other locations...that is why we are here, any other suggestions?

I say we try the next weekly meet at Sonic, it's more central than Brandon for most people and there is more exposure there since it's on Dale Mabry. PLUS, you know the definition of crazy is doing the same thing and expecting a different result, so..... let's move it!

I'm up for either as long as we get the attendance back up. Moe's is super close to me but doesn't offer any cover from the weather which is so unpredictable during this time of the year. Plus crappy lighting. Sonic has good lighting and cover but is a little hump from Brandon, especially after a long day at work for me. I'll go wherever we need to go as long as more people start coming out.

I think we're on to something here but let's not be too hasty. Assuming that we don't find anything better than Sonic, we should still probably ask people what they think about moving it first. Then we'll need to make sure they know it's moved. This is going to mean changing a number of threads on different forums and otherwise getting the word out. It would suck to be somebody who doesn't check this site very often, or a newbie, and finds an empty parking lot at Moes.

Truth time.. I love Sonic as the Hot Dubs location but I'm really not feeling it for a weekly meet location :-/

I don't think that there is any way we will be able to satisfy everyone. However as a group we will talk it out for the next week or so and go from there. I think the best way to make a transition (no matter the location) is to set a date and spend 2-4 weeks promoting it to make sure that everyone is aware of the change. I would agree if we are going to change it needs to be more "central" so that the Pinellas, Westchase, N. Tampa people feel like it is worth the drive. If I am not mistaken isn't there another meet on Wed. evenings up in Wesley Chapel? That might have something to do with the attendance as well. Any other suggestions for locations?

It was moved up to Thrus and just starting off I think. In general weeknight meets are probably going to have smaller attendance I think

I agree with Ali that it doesn't really feel right. Although I've been browsing Google maps and there's just not a whole lot that's central, easy to get to, and has food. Also, would having a weekly meet in that area conflict with the monthly meet? Just a thought...

change is so hard! the thing that sucks about moving the meet spot is that people that dont frequent the forums wont know about the change. this was a problem when we had to move the meets from the Publix lot where we used to meet back in the day. A lot of people didnt know the meet moved and never were online to find out about whats up. BUT if the news is spread everywhere people will find out especially with all these fancy gadgets everyone carries around these days!

Everyone has made some good comments. I personally am in favor of keeping it where it is. It's a good spot, beer is close, food is closer. It seems pretty central to me anyway and Moe's knows us and doesn't mind/likes us being there. I don't really see a great reason to move it but I'm just one person.

After talking to the group last night, I think we will wait a few months and have this conversation again. Wait for summer to pass & our college kids to return. May adjust the time so it is earlier and then have a post meet somewhere. For now same place same time.
